Chunky Date, Coconut and Almond Granola

Recipe : Chunky Date, Coconut and Almond Granola
Procedure :

2 c Old-fashioned oats

3/4 c Whole almonds; halved

1/2 c Sweetened flaked coconut

1/2 c Raw cashews

1/3 c Firmly packed brown sugar

1 1/2 ts Ground allspice

1 ts Ground cinnamon

1/4 c Unsalted butter

2 tb Honey

1 c Packed pitted dates

– each cut crosswise — into thirds Preheat oven to 300 F. Mix first 7 ingredients in large bowl. Melt butter with honey in heavy small saucepan over low heat. Pour over granola mixture and toss well. Spread out mixture on cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add dates; mix to separate any clumps. Continue to bake until granola is golden brown, stirring frequently, about 15 minutes longer. Cool. (Can be made 2 weeks ahead. Store airtight at

Banana Push-Ups

Recipe : Banana Push-Ups
Procedure :

2 lg Bananas, Cut Up

1/2 c Instant Nonfat Dry Milk

1 c Plain Yogurt

6 oz Frozen Orange Juice

-Concentrate (1 Can) 1 c Water

Chocolate Peanut Butter Dip

Recipe : Chocolate Peanut Butter Dip
Procedure :

3 oz Pkg cream cheese, softened

1/3 c Creamy peanut butter

1 ds Ground cinnamon

1/4 c Chocolate syrup

2 tb Milk

Assorted cut-up fruit Assorted cookies Pretzels From: Sesame Street Mag. Parents Guide This one is so easy to make! Your kids will be able to fix and dip into it within 5 minutes of coming home. Use an assortment of dippers…fruit, cookies, pretzels. 1. In large bowl with electric mixer on medium, beat cream cheese, peanut

butter, and cinnamon until smooth. 2. Gradually beat in chocolate syrup and milk until well blended.

3. Serve with fruit, cookies, or pretzels.

Frozen Fruit Treat

Recipe : Frozen Fruit Treat
Procedure :

1 3/4 c Strawberries

1 lg Can crushed pineapple

5 Bananas (cut in cubes)

12 oz Frozen orange juice

-concentrate 1 1/2 c Water

From: Healthy Meals and More Mix ingredients together. Freeze in small paper cups. Serve partially defrosted. Children love this nutritious treat!

Bologna and Cheesewitch

Recipe : Bologna and Cheesewitch
Procedure :

1 lb Bologna

3/4 lb Swiss Cheese

1 tb India Relish

4 tb Chopped Onion

1/4 c Prepared Mustard

1/3 c Mayonnaise

6 Whole Hotdop Rolls

6 tb Butter

From: ******Bologna and Cheesewitch****** Using a meat grinder or food processor, grind together the Bologna and Swiss cheese. Mix into mixture India relish, chopped onion, mustardand mayonnaise. butter inside of each hotdog roll, and stuff the mixture equally into all 6 rolls. Wrap each roll seperately in foil and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before baking. May also be frozen for later use. Bake foil wrapped rollsat 325 F. for 25 mins. or until insides are all melted. Defrost before baking.

Gelatin Pizza

Recipe : Gelatin Pizza
Procedure :

4 pk (4 serving size) or

2 pk ( 8 serving size) jello

-powder, any flavor 2 1/2 c Boiling water

Non-stick cooking spray 1 c Cool-whip

2 c Cut-up fruit

Servings: 10 to 12 Pour gelatin into bowl. Add 2 1/2 cups boiling water to gelatin. Stir, until gelatin is completely dissolved, about 2 minutes. Spray pizza pan with non-stick cooking spray. Pour gelatin mixture into pizza pan. Put pan into refrigerator to chill until firm, about 3 hours. Remove pan from refrigerator when ready to serve. Put about 1 inch of warm water in sink. Carefully dip just bottom of pan into warm water for 15 seconds. Spread whipped topping over gelatin just before serving, leaving about 1 inch of space around outside edge of gelatin for pizza “crust”. Top pizza with fruit, arranging fruit in whatever design you like. Cut pizza into wedges. Posted by Linda Davis
